The new Level 5 Diploma in Leadership (City and Guilds Scheme 3978) has recently been launched on the QCF and replaces the Leadership and Management for Care Services as the qualification of choice for managers of Social Care Services.
There are six pathways within the new Diploma:
Adults' Residential Management Pathway
Adults' Management Pathway
Adults Advanced Practice Pathway
Children and Young People's Residential Management Pathway
Children and Young People's Management Pathway
Children and Young People's Advanced Practice Pathway
Q Training is in an unrivalled position to be able to support candidates as it has highly experienced assessors and verifiers. The resource book co-written by Q Training's Director, Peter Connors, to support Leadership and Management for Care Services is being re-written to suit the requirements of this new award.
The current book, Leadership and Management for Care Services. A Straightforward Guide, continues to sell well as providers of the new Diploma still find it to be a useful reader for candidates but the new book which we hope will be available in June will be tailored to the requirements of the new award.
Leadership and Management for Care Services. A Straightforward Guide to the Award is published by Kirwin Maclean Associates Ltd and is available from
